AV Installations Engineer sought by a leading Audio Visual equipment supplier with customers throughout the UK and Europe. This field-based role will be based in London, with occasional travel nationally and throughout Europe.

The Role:

Reporting to the Installations Manager, you’ll deliver first & second fix installations to customers to agreed deadlines, under the direction of the Lead Engineer and Project Manager. Your duties will be:

  • Carry out first and second fix installation activities of control systems, Video Conferencing systems and Audio-Visual systems
  • Rack build and testing of systems internally
  • Ensure projects are tested thoroughly prior to sub contract programmers arriving on site
  • Commission and handover to the end user of all forms of Audio Visual installations
  • Work with Crestron control systems
  • Upload files to processors, touch panels and apps, and minor programming changes
  • Work with audio DSPs e.g. signal routing, processing blocks, AEC configuration
  • Upload, test and make changes to program files
  • Create & test RS232 command strings using manufacturer documentation & driver libraries
  • Setup & configure networked devices & peripherals including communication via networks from PC or console
  • Installation and integration of VOIP/SIP systems
  • Setting up and configuring managed network switches

The successful AV Installations Engineer should have the following skills & experience:

  • CSCS/ESC card (or equivalent)
  • Solid understanding of first & second fix AV installations: wiring, installation & configuration
  • Ability to fault find, suggest engineering solutions and rectify issues with Audio-Visual systems, including preventative and reactive maintenance and firmware upgrades
  • Excellent soldering, crimp and terminating skills
  • Experience working from schematics, site plans and drawings
  • Working knowledge of Crestron control systems, including uploading files to processors, touch panels and applications
  • Understands audio DSPs, signal routing, processing blocks and AEC configuration
  • Sound knowledge of VOIP/SIP systems, the principles behind their integration and the requirements for installing them
  • Confident with the setup and configuration or networked devices and peripherals
  • Creating & testing RS232 command strings using manufacturer documents & driver libraries
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence and valid Passport for nationwide and Europe travel
  • IPAF, PASMA, CTS-I, Creston CTI-P101 and manufacturer training are all beneficial
